Technical Manager for Robotics

Ekumen is looking for an experienced people manager who has worked in software and has a love for technology. We are seeking people passionate about technology with the desire to learn, confront unusual challenges and push their skills to the highest level. In this particular role you will be responsible for the personal and professional development of employees, contributing to management discussions and daily operations, implementing strategic decisions, and maintaining billable hours with clients. The latter can be tailored to your talents and may include brushing up on programming skills, managing projects, providing user experience expertise, etc.

Ekumen works jointly with the creators of new, disruptive technologies, doing work that has a direct impact on real robots for an international audience. The work environment is fast-paced, iterative and open. Active participation is encouraged and rewarded. You will be working with the latest generation of technology and immersed in multi-cultural team of highly-talented engineers and researchers.

About you:

  • Have demonstrable experience managing people, mentoring people, and/or leading technical teams
  • Experience managing customers
  • Love technology and enjoy getting your hands dirty creating new tech
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, working closely with smart colleagues on challenging problems in technology
  • Enjoy helping individuals grow their talents
  • Have experience in at least one of these fields / technologies: Robotics (C++ / Python), Mobile or Web Development
  • Speak English fluently enough to work comfortably in an English-speaking environment

It’d be nice if you have:

  • Experience with ongoing operations and/or implementing changes to current business processes
  • An interest in programming in C++, python, Java or Android
  • Actively contributing to open source projects
  • Participating in competition, research projects, conferences and groups of interest in related areas
  • Experience using Gazebo and/or ROS
